Borm Ormling

Born a woodsman in the hinterlands of the Verk Empire, Borm of the Ormlings was a patriot of sorts (in his own opinion) despite his apparent difficulty in connecting with others. He held to Verkhite values and traditions strongly, or stubbornly, but his faith in those values was rarely tested. Until one day, he heard word his city-dwelling kin had been executed. The details were murky, something about illegal residence even though the registers holding the proof of their lawful citizenship had been burned in the power struggles of the fractious bureaucracy.

In response to this, he joined the Rebels to burn the whole regime to the ground. In this tenure, his brothers were killed in battle by the same wizard that left him a burnt ruin. But he did live to see the Verk line deposed, only in far more physical agony than he predicted.

Afterwards, at a loss for anything else to do, he wandered the countryside, hunting down wild beasts and other monsters that had sprung up in all the chaos, where his tendency towards fury could be unquestionably turned to the upholding of civilisation.
