History

Daelin Brooks is a leader of Luroto's Development Sect and was once a blacksmith for the Verk Empire. During the early days of the war, Daelin made weapons and armor for the Empire and became well accomplished enough to get regular commissions. He is the father of Bartos Brooks.

Daelin would only see the true nature of his employers when his first born son Harren Brooks was killed and turned by imperial necromancers, followed by his wife Ami Brooks by the dreaded day long Animus Blizzard. All that remained of his family afterwards was himself and his youngest and now war scarred son Bartos Brooks. Seeing the Empire for what it truly was, he would quietly pull away from weapon production and help his last son escape his drafting, then accepted the Rebel taking of Kazorith.

Despite his skill at forging and improving weapons, Daelin now puts his energy to turning his swords into plows. When he was informed about the other settlers of Luroto, Daelin and his son jumped on the opportunity to leave their shame and trauma behind and start a new life far away from the Empire that once was and the Rebel forces who had defeated it.

Personality

Despite his old age (or perhaps because of it), Daelin has a sharp tongue and a critical eye when it comes to his trade of smithing, among other things. He is well known among the other settlers for his crabbiness and remarkably short temper. His only soft spot is for his last surviving son, Bartos.

While he is as fire blooded and ill tempered as he was when he was youthful, Daelin abhors violence. He has shifted away from the construction of weapons of war towards helping to build up the community of Luroto.
