History

Hailing from the Tsurugi Shogunate, Himura Hideyoshi has committed his loyalty to Tsurugi Yori, and within a solitary life devotes himself to their merciless ideals, eradicating any Outsider that crosses his path and seeking demons to conquer. Himura was born on the outskirts of Maternal Dragon, in the mountain range bordering Eyrie Borne, where the faction had initially come to conquer the sparsely populated region and have an area in which they might create a base in seclusion from the rest of Siacros. Raised from birth into the militaristic lifestyle of the Tsurugi, even before reaching adulthood, Himura had become a skilled and seasoned warrior, having participated in several battles against other colonists from Etera and the native Streife and with his prowess with his sword and magitech, received great recognition. Many even speculated that he would one day be able to challenge Tsurugi Yori and usurp their power, though never did these rumours reach him. Whilst all of the Tsurugi Shogunate held hatred for Outsiders, Himura especially loathed demons and the existence of one infernal race in particular: the tieflings. It was one of them who had slain his father, though they reportedly escaped back to Etera before anyone of the faction could have vengeance, with Himura’s mother herself had been the one to last see them escape on a fleeing vessel.

This malice towards those with infernal bloodlines was further refined as, in what might have been considered by some to be indoctrination, in the days he spent training as a soldier, he was instructed on the inferiority of Outsiders and disciplined against all things considered to be of their ilk. One of these practices that were forbidden within the faction was that of ever admitting to or showing sign of the sorrows of war, for such words were considered rupturing of the Tsurugi’s honored armor and weaknesses in the heart.

However, when the young Himura attended a ceremony designed to exemplify Tsurugi Yori’s principles of self-sacrifice—in which the adolescent soldiers bear witness as a defeated warrior takes their own life—he found himself, for the first time in his life, breaching the code he had hitherto been devoted to as on the stage standing before their leader, as on the stage facing the consequences of failure was not the average soldier, but his mother. Upon seeing her, before she could raise her dagger, he lashed out against Tsurugi Yori, demanding an explanation for her crime. The leader, foreseeing this, explained to the already distinguished teen that his mother had been beguiled by the very same tiefling who had killed his father and had aided their escape. With her treachery publicized, Himura’s defiance to the Shogunate’s ideals became even worse of an embarrassment and stained his reputation with hideous dishonour, yet Tsurugi Yori, seeking to employ Himura’s prowess, in opposition to having him take his own life, offered a challenge:

"Retrieve from this land the Great Sword Breaker, with which we Tsurugi might destroy all other Relics of Siacros and dominate the continent, and you may return with your name reclaimed.”

Himura, without hesitation, accepted this, and standing by as the ceremony was completed, without shedding tears for his mother, went on in executing the shogunate’s will, and thus finds himself traversing Siacros in this pursuit.

Adventures

Alongside Tsurugi Yori’s challenge, Himura had given himself another goal besides obtaining the Great Sword Breaker—the eradication of a thousand demons and Outsiders to redeem his mother’s legacy. This has led him into many a skirmish with the other peoples of Siacros, though too has created the legend of a wandering soldier, which by now is known by many across the continent.

Appearance

Like many of the Tsurugi Shogunate, Himura is clad and deep scarlet, gold-accented armor, etched in a myriad of details that differentiate his armor from those of others. Underneath this lies a layer of magitech modifications that allow for more keen control over the oversized weapons of the Tsurugi Shogunate. Always he carries with him one of these swords, and as never would he be seen with it shed, this is the image that is known throughout all of Siacros.

Personality

Taking after Tsurugi Yori, whose traits Himura has adopted in his loyalty, Himura is an exceptionally ruthless member of the Tsurugi Shogunate. Never is his determination vanquished in the pursuit of an enemy’s head, for failure to do so, no matter the enemy’s mercy would mean the end of his life. Upholding this belief, Himura scoffs at any pity the enemy attempts to spare. and whilst as a member of the Tsurugi Shogunate he thinks all Outsiders to lead unrefined and worthless lives, he also follows the principle of extending the might of the Tsurugi through certain forms of benevolence, and if others make the right appeals—particularly those involving acknowledgement of inferiority—Himura may sometimes execute the favours of others; never would he admit it is out of pure kindness, however.

Relationships

Mother:

Without being acquainted with his father and being forbidden from bonding with other soldiers on account of Tsurugi Yori’s beliefs, Himura’s mother was the only person he ever had a significant relationship with. She, rarely participating in battle, played a significant role in the faction as one of the persons tasked with preparing the heads of enemies as trophy to victories generals. Whilst not entirely successful in pursuing his father’s murder, her determination in doing so led Himura to have increased respect for his mother. It was because he regarded her so highly even, that he was so quick to believe Tsurugi Yori’s words, and never once questioned his mother’s motives, believing her to have been corrupted by the tiefling’s clever words. In reality, the tiefling had been framed by Tsurugi Yori, the true culprit; his mother had been on the side of justice, but never with enough evidence to prove herself, was forced to obey orders on the day of the ceremony.

Aspirations

Himura is not one in search of great power or influence. Rather he prefers to maintain loyalty to a leader, believing that only certain people are qualified to fill the role, and once they obtain it, is for with important and supernal purpose they hold that responsibility. For himself, he believes his purpose is as an honored soldier.
